SIDES OF BEEF AND PORK

Purchasing a side of beef and/or pork ensures your freezer is fully-stocked with quality meats. This is a great option for large families and those who don’t have quick access to ethically raised meat in Ottawa.

 

Beef

When buying half a cow, customers pay by the hanging weight. We charge $6.50 per pound hanging weight. We aim to bring our beef when they weigh  approximately 650 pounds (it can end up being more or less than this).

 

 As an example, for customers purchasing a side (half a cow) with a hanging weight around 325 lbs, you will receive approximately 65% of that in actual meat pounds once the carcass has been trimmed. The total price would be $6.50 x 325 pounds hanging weight = $2112.50  for approximately 210 pounds of meat.

 

Sausages, shish kabobs, and pepperettes are available at an additional cost (butcher's price).

 

Pork

When buying half a pig, customers pay by the hanging weight. We charge $5.50 per pound hanging weight. We aim to bring our pigs when they weigh  approximately 200 pounds (it can end up being more or less than this).

 

As an example, for customers purchasing a side (half a pig) of weight around 100 pounds, you will receive approximately 80% of that in actual meat pounds once the carcass has been trimmed. The total price would be $5.50 x 100 pounds hanging weight = $550.00 for approximately 80 pounds of meat.

 

Bacon and sausages are available at an additional cost (butcher’s price).
